Thunder Mountain Raceway was established in 1994 by Rocky and Yvonne Grimsley and is now owned by Gary Nelson, who purchased the facility in 2009. It is an IMCA Sanctioned 3/8 mile dirt oval stock car race track with a smaller oval in field for Go-karts, located at the Delta/Montrose county line on Amber Road, off Hwy 50. (Behind Pioneer Soils) In addition to our local drivers, we have drawn racers from all over Colorado as well as Utah, Wyoming and New Mexico. We have had race fans from all over the country! Grand Stand capacity - 600 Pit capacity - 200 cars + no limit to crew Average attendance for the 2012 season was 425 in the grand stands (fans) and 163 in the pits (drivers and crew). Our website received an average of 4516 total visits, 2125 unique visits and 101,206 hits over the season, April thru September 2012. The 2013 Season is scheduled to run 25 racing events April into October. The schedule of events is still in progress and will be set by mid-February. Restrictions apply.) General PA Announcements consist of your business name, location and basic information. If there is ANYTHING specific you want people to know, ie; sales, specials, events, etc. you need only contact us prior to a race event to change the general announcement. We will tailor announcements to suit YOUR needs. Many of our current sponsors provide us with coupons and “swag” to give away to race fans during each race event. If you would like to participate in that way we encourage you to do so. ALL Sponsorships include posts on social media & “likes” to your business (if applicable). * Contact info. Banners mesh or vinyl. Vinyl needs to have wind cuts and reinforced grommets. Signs need to be vinyl on corrugated plastic or metal. We have found signs made in this fashion do not deteriorate or fade during the season and can be used again for several years. The cost of these signs vary by size, detail and colors.
